The Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy (CBAL) is the Basin and Boundary's only not-for-profit literacy organization, working in 77 communities across south-eastern British Columbia.
With nearly 150 staff and hundreds of volunteers, we are able to provide free literacy programs and services to people of all ages.
We believe in the work we do because literacy and learning matter, and they are essential in creating strong and resilient communities that thrive.

Our work is funded through a variety of local, regional, provincial and federal grants. These funders provide CBAL with the necessary resources to achieve great things. CBAL is supported by Decoda Literacy Solutions and we gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the province of British Columbia through the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Ministry of Post-Seondary Education and Future Skills. We also would like to thank all of the regional funders who continue to support community literacy initiatives.
